In Monchegorsk, on the slope of Mount Nyuduaivench, the all-Russian competition “Valery Tsyganov Prize” in alpine skiing ended. The competition originated in 1989 and was held in the region for the 35th time.

Children aged 12-13 from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kemerovo, Murmansk, Ivanovo and other regions fought for victory. The awards were presented to the boys and girls by Valery Tsyganov, a multiple champion of the USSR, a participant in the Olympic Games and the first Soviet alpine skier to win the World Cup in 1981.

It is clarified that in the overall team competition, our region took fourth place, taking one silver and bronze medals. Moscow is in first place, Leningrad region is in second, and Moscow region is in third.

On the eve of the opening of the Polar Olympics 2024. “MK in Murmansk” wrote that five thousand athletes from 62 regions will take part in it.
