Murashko instructed the regions to strengthen control over the work of medical services on New Year’s holidays

Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko spent meeting of the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Health, dedicated to the preparation of the medical service for work during the New Year and Christmas holidays. As a result of the meeting, the Russian regions were instructed to strengthen control over the work of ambulance services and the availability of the required number of drugs for the treatment of COVID-19, influenza, SARS in hospitals and pharmacies.
The issuance of medicines to preferential categories of citizens should take into account the entire period of holidays, the ministry noted.
In addition, the Ministry of Health instructed the regional authorities to ensure the availability of emergency and planned medical care in hospitals, paying special attention to the readiness of infectious diseases and toxicology departments.
The Ministry of Health also stressed the need to control the uninterrupted operation of the unified emergency number 112, the press service said.
On the eve of the New Year, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded to Muscovites about the ban on launching fireworks on New Year’s Eve – after 23:00. With online voting, more than 80% of the residents of the capital spoke out for holding New Year’s events and festive decoration of the capital. At the same time, more than half of the approximately 300,000 respondents chose a holiday without mass festivities.
