Former editor-in-chief of Igromania and blogger Alexei Makarenkov in a video posted on his YouTube channel today, March 11, said that Mundfish, in response to his request, confirmed the development of the second part of the Atomic Heart game.
“Atomic Heart 2 is already planned, and with a very high probability there will be a game,” Alexey Makarenkov said, retelling the developer’s answer to the corresponding question. According to the blogger, the studio is now working on the previously announced four additions to the first part of the game.
Agency RBC March 11 published a review article about Atomic Heart, which, among other things, talked about investments in the game. A source in the video game market estimated the budget of Atomic Heart at no less than $25 million. In 2019, the studio stated that we were talking about “several million dollars.”
The Russian company Mundfish released Atomic Heart on February 21, 2023. Upon release, the game topped the sales rankings on the Steam platform. This is a first-person shooter with RPG elements. The action in Atomic Heart takes place in an alternative USSR.
