MTS explained its refusal to charge fees for Internet distribution

Telecommunications operator MTS I do not intend to remove the fee for distributing the Internet from the phone, since this will lead to a deterioration in the quality of communication and an increase in the cost of all tariffs. About it reports Kommersant with reference to the press service MTS.

The company explained that mobile tariffs are calculated taking into account individual traffic consumption from smartphones. At the same time, there is a different line of tariffs for laptops and PCs, since these devices consume “many times more traffic per unit of time.” They added that equalizing the cost of traffic will lead to an increase in the cost of services for all subscribers.

“In this way, ordinary subscribers with smartphones will actually pay for subscribers who actively distribute traffic,” they said MTS.

In September, the FAS stated that it had identified “signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation” in the introduction of fees for Internet distribution MTS, Megafon, Tele2 and Beeline.
