Moscow State Technical University (MSTU) named after N. E. Bauman, as part of the Journey to Christmas winter festival, opened a research station for children and teenagers, where children can attend scientific workshops, take part in master classes in robotics and 3D modeling , play laser chess and get acquainted with VR and AR technologies, experience the sensations of being in the Arctic in the cockpit of a KamAZ truck developed by university specialists, study the structure of a racing car and other vehicles. And also see the exhibits of the exhibition in augmented reality dedicated to the transport industry.
The scientific station will work all New Year’s holidays, and the program is supposed to be very different every day.
According to Pavel Drogovoz, Vice-Rector for Science and Digital Development of Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman, future engineers should be trained from the school bench, when children become interested in scientific and technical creativity.
“It is at this moment that it is important to support them and develop their design skills, to show how new technical forms can be created. After all, every child is interested in both observing how engineering solutions transform the world around them and independently participating in these transformations,” Pavel Drogovoz specified.
