Mrs Universe Maksimova stuck in Bulgaria due to earthquake in Turkey

On February 5, at the international contest “Mrs. Universe” in Sofia, the crown was presented to Elena Maksimova, a native of Udmurtia. The representative of Russia won this title for the first time in the history of the competition. We were warned that it would not be possible to contact Elena in the near future. “She is very tired and does not answer calls,” her acquaintances warned. The winner of the contest “Mrs. Universe” Elena Maksimova comes from a remote Udmurt village. She is 33 years old, married and has two children. Elena has three higher educations, one of which she received in London. Now she lives in Izhevsk, manages a network of language centers.

– When does Elena plan to return?

“It is still unknown when she will get home,” says Ksenia Balobanova, regional director of the Mrs. Udmurtia contest. – She needs to fly from Bulgaria via Istanbul. Due to the earthquake in Turkey, flights are cancelled, so she is tired and angry. He does not understand when he will be in Izhevsk. Cries.

– Her colleague, who represented Russia at the Miss Universe pageant, was harassed in social networks. Has anything like this happened to your friend?

So far, we haven’t seen anything like this on social media. And Elena cannot be called an active blogger, she is very modest, an introvert. According to her, the atmosphere at the competition itself was friendly. Even the organizers of the event noticed that such a warm atmosphere has not been in all the years of the existence of the competition. And for the first time, the participants were placed in rooms not as they wanted, but as the organizers decided. So the girls had to communicate not only with their delegation, but interact with everyone. Elena, in my opinion, was settled with a representative of the United Arab Emirates.

– Did she have any problems communicating with her neighbor?

Elena didn’t have any problems with anyone. She speaks excellent English. Although not all participants knew English, some spoke at a basic level. I can’t imagine how they prepared a report in English on the topic of domestic violence, which was in the mandatory program. Elena herself prepared the performances, I don’t know what she said.

– Did she communicate with the Ukrainian delegation?

– Elena was in contact with the Ukrainian delegation. I can say that there were no open conflicts, as if no one quarreled.

– Has Elena been to Bulgaria for the first time? Did she like the country?

“It seems to be the first time. I don’t think she really felt the country. Participants of such competitions are in constant tension, sleep little, experience stress, you always have to smile, you won’t relax much. This is a wear test. In a week, all girls, even if they eat a lot, lose five kilograms.

– After winning the competition, did she have any obligations, will she have to travel a lot to various events?

– As far as I know, so far she was invited next year to the Miss Universe contest in the Philippines, where she will sit on the jury. In general, after the final it was difficult to talk with Lena in detail. Apparently, everyone is pulling her, she is on her nerves, it is almost impossible to ask her about everything.

– According to rumors, Elena did not accidentally enter the competition. They write on the Web that her dad is the director of the plant, hence the talk about the thieves’ daughter began.

– Do they already say that? Her dad once worked at a factory, but now he is out of business, long retired. So it’s ridiculous to talk about blat.

Elena went through all the stages – first “Mrs. Udmurtia”, then “Mrs. Russia”. And she obviously did not win the Mrs. Universe thanks to her dad, who worked for a small factory in Udmurtia. By and large, Elena’s reputation can not be faulted. She is a big hard worker. He helps children a lot, and does not advertise it. It was only before the competition that I found out about this activity of hers.

– Before the trip, she did not count on winning, given the current situation?

– Before participating in the Mrs. Udmurtia contest, her mother turned to her grandmother, who communicates with angels. This is a popular topic in our region. And the old woman not only predicted her victory in the regional competition, but also said: “She will go even further and become“ Mrs. Universe ”. It must be taken into account that the grandmother has no idea about competitions and titles. Now in Izhevsk everyone wants to find this grandmother and ask her their questions.

– Is there a cash prize for winning the competition?

No, just a ribbon and a crown.
