The new fitness space Bodium, which recently opened in Rostov-on-Don, is billed as innovative, balancing body and mind. “Kommersant Style” finds out the details.

The formula “fitness as a lifestyle” in the modern sense acquires new meanings: today, caring for a beautiful body does not exist in the abstract, but is connected with the state of the nervous system and internal balance. The creators of the new Bodium space in Rostov decided to bring this concept to life and filled it not only with modern exercise equipment, but also with historical accents and fashionable art objects. The “Space of Conscious Development” (as Bodium defines itself) is primarily work with the Tobacco Factory built in 1857, which was breathed a second life by the Moscow architectural bureau Ab-architects, Moscow Architectural Institute graduates Lidia, Zlatan and Vedran Brkich. They preserved the atmosphere and culture of the historical building and showed the traditional fitness club from a completely different, unexpected side. There is a lot of light, space, greenery, natural materials in the decoration and paintings, installations, graffiti, calligraphy – art in the club not only to please the eye, but also to play the role of a motivator that feeds willpower on the way to a healthy body. The art filling of the space is supervised by the well-known artist and creative creator in Rostov, Oleg Kalich, or Tomtree.

You can work out here both in the usual conditions of the gym and in the ring – the club has a full-size boxing ring with Ultimatum Boxing equipment. Develop a sense of balance and flexibility through comfortable yet intense workouts such as Gyrotonic, an exercise system based on the seven basic movements of the spine. Pilates classes at Bodium are conducted according to the standards of the Romana`s Pilates school, there is also Iyengar yoga, which is suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

The fitness cafe has come up with an original menu-constructor where you can assemble your own dish (for those who consider the proportions of proteins – fats – carbohydrates – the ideal solution), there is an author’s smoothie line and a separate bar with a selection of water from different parts of the world : Australia, Greece, Georgia, Slovenia, Russia.

Separately, we note the Bodium spa, where they do massages and treatments using Anne Semonin cosmetics, there is an RSL body sculpting apparatus. On the territory of the space there is also Face Only, a well-known beauty salon in Moscow, where they focus on non-injection cosmetology and facial skin care procedures. Cosmetic brands include Margy`s, Barbara Sturm, Obagi, Cosmedix, Genosys, Alex Cosmetic, Heleo4 and others.

For a full and conscious inclusion in the training system and self-care, before starting training, you can go through a check-up with a doctor and determine the ratio of fat and muscle mass, understand what gaps or distortions are in nutrition, and if necessary, donate blood.

The creators do not expect mass character, since the project was not originally designed for a wide audience. Here they focus on the club system, personal approach, maintaining comfort and personal space.
