Mourinho turns down offer to take charge of Portugal

Coach José Mourinho has turned down an offer from the Portuguese Football Federation to lead the national team, according to Jornal de Noticias.
59-year-old Mourinho, according to the publication, is the main candidate for the post of head coach of Portugal. But the specialist himself is not interested in this work, but prefers coaching in the Italian Roma.
Earlier, 68-year-old Fernando Santos left the post of head coach of Portugal after losing to Morocco in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar.
Mourinho took over as Roma manager in May 2021. The contract with the Portuguese coach has been signed until the summer of 2024.
