Director of the Dakar rally marathon David Caster spoke about the terrible incident at the second stage in Saudi Arabia, where Spanish motorcycle racer Carles Falcon fell on the track.
According to him, the motorcycle racer fell at kilometer 448 at the end of the stage. Help reached him only after 16 minutes. Custer had no palpable pulse and was in critical condition. They began resuscitation measures for the athlete right on the spot and they were successful.
Custer added that Falcon was then taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. Perhaps the rider will then be transported to Riyadh. His diagnosis has not yet been announced.
