Last year, Mosvodokanal specialists reconstructed more than 185 kilometers of water supply and sewerage networks. The work was carried out using modern technologies and equipment.
Inspection of the state of pipes is carried out, including with the use of robots, and the repair of communications is carried out without openings – using the horizontal directional drilling method, with pulling a polymer sleeve in an existing pipe.
“Today, Moscow occupies a leading position among other regions in the renewal of engineering communications. The ongoing systematic work allows us to fully ensure the safety and reliability of network operation. Last year alone, over 125 kilometers of water supply networks and almost 60 kilometers of sewerage were reconstructed and restored,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor Pyotr Biryukov.
The repair of the water supply and sewerage network took place in all administrative districts of Moscow.
“Networks that need to be updated are determined during telediagnostics using a robotic complex. After inspecting the internal condition of the pipeline, a decision is made on the need for repair. More than 90% of the work is carried out using trenchless technologies, such as pulling a new pipeline in an existing pipe, rehabilitation of the pipeline with polymer sleeves, horizontal directional drilling and the use of augers,” emphasized Pyotr Biryukov.
Carrying out repairs using modern technologies allows minimizing inconvenience for residents, and the looped nature of the Moscow central water supply system makes it possible to ensure routine and repair work without disconnecting subscribers.
Since 2011, more than 1.3 thousand kilometers of water supply and more than 600 kilometers of sewer networks have been reconstructed in Moscow.
