Most IT professionals want to work for foreign companies

63.7% of Russian IT professionals surveyed would like to work in one of the foreign companies, follows from a survey by My Path Group LLC. Vedomosti got acquainted with the results of the survey.
When asked what attracts them to work in a foreign company, 40.8% of respondents said they believe that they offer the best working conditions there. 25.4% noted that foreign companies provide an opportunity to move to another country, 17.8% said they would like to work for an industry leader. Another 8.9% of respondents believe that foreign IT companies have more “ambitious tasks”, and 7.1% talk about a more profitable social package.
My Path Group LLC conducted an online survey among 1,249 verified IT specialists from the company’s resume database in November 2022.
More than half of the interviewed IT professionals said they were ready to relocate for the sake of a job in a foreign company: 37.2% are ready to leave at any time, 35.1% are ready to leave if the employer helps with registration and compensates for relocation costs. 21.9% said they would like to work remotely for a foreign company while staying in Russia.
At the same time, only 53.3% of the total number of respondents have a plan on how to get a job in a foreign IT company, they admit. Also, 43.1% of survey participants admitted that they are ready to pay for a test interview or an interview in a foreign company, another 32.1% are ready to take this step only if it will create advantages when applying for a job.
Since March 2022, on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the government has set a zero income tax rate for accredited Russian IT companies for the period until December 31, 2024, provided preferential loans, suspended on-site inspections, and other IT professionals working in firms included in the list of accredited companies received a deferment from conscription during the period of work, they can also apply for a mortgage at a reduced rate, and the employment of foreign IT specialists has been simplified.
