American actress and sex symbol of the 1970s Raquel Welch has died at the age of 83. According to the TMZ portal, the actress passed away after a short illness.
Popularity came to her in 1966 after roles in the films Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C. (1966). Her subsequent roles on the big screen did not bring her much success, as the sexy actress was not perceived in serious roles. An exception for her was the role of Constance Bonacieux in The Three Musketeers: The Queen’s Pendants (1974), for which she was awarded the Golden Globe Award.
Good looks and fame led the actress to the cover of Playboy in the 1970s, which in turn called Welch “the most desirable woman of the 1970s.”
