As shown survey VTsIOM, the majority (61%) of Russians believe that women in modern Russia have the same rights and opportunities as men. At the same time, 20 years ago, the position that gender equality had been achieved in the country was shared by every second respondent.
It should be added that the views of women and men differ slightly. 17% of male respondents believe that women have even more rights than they do, 15% – which is less. Among women themselves, on the contrary, only 7% believe that they have more rights, and 31% – that they have less.
When asked who is the best employee, respondents still choose men more often (41% versus 7% of answers in favor of women). In the question of who is the best parent, on the contrary, women bypass men (26% versus 2%). Although in both cases, the majority answers that both equally (47% – managers, 66% – parents).
