Mospriroda resumed classes for participants of the Moscow Longevity

On March 1, the Moscow Longevity project turned five years old. Now more than half a million residents of the capital take part in it, who have access to classes in almost 40 areas. Some of these classes are conducted by the State Budgetary Institution “Mospriroda” – as part of the “Moscow Longevity” in the natural areas of the capital and in the ecocenters of “Mospriroda”, 17 groups work in the areas of “Nordic walking”, “Ecology of life” and “Gardening”.

So, since the beginning of spring, a new cycle of Nordic walking classes has started for the participants of Moscow Longevity. Classes that combine sports and environmental education are held in nine natural areas of the capital, including the Tsaritsyno natural and historical park, Bitsevsky Forest, and the Severnoye Butovo ecological park. During an hour-long session with an instructor, participants receive not only the necessary physical activity, but also the pleasure of walking through green areas, communicating with nature, and also the opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the natural area where the classes are held.

As part of the Ecology of Life program, classes are held at the environmental education centers Bitsevsky Forest, Vorobyovy Gory, Forest Fairy Tale, Beekeeping, and at the Directorate of Tushinsky and Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo natural areas. Participants are told what “environmental thinking” is and what eco-habits are, they are introduced to eco-trends, and the impact of environmental factors on a person is explained. In addition to lectures, master classes are held as part of the classes, where you can learn how to make useful things from recycled materials.

And in the ecological and educational center “Flowering” at VDNKh, classes are held under the “Gardening” program. They are useful for those who, in their youth, were not too fond of gardening and gardening, did not like to mess with indoor plants, and now decided to master this art. Participants will gain useful theoretical knowledge, and then learn how to apply it in practice. So, for example, in the classroom they will tell and show how to transplant indoor flowers, how to carry out cuttings, or how to create a flower garden in a summer cottage.
