Moskalkova appealed to the TFR due to the eviction of children from a hotel in Turkey

Russian Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova said she had asked the Russian Investigative Committee to look into the reasons for the eviction of children from the Rios Latte Beach hotel in Antalya, Turkey. The Russian tour operator Hummingbird organized a children’s camp at the hotel, but due to problems with paying for the children’s housing evicted.
“I turned to the Investigative Committee with a request to find out: how could it happen that underage citizens of Russia were put out on the street at night? I know that Rospotrebnadzor has already become interested in this egregious fact. I hope that an objective investigation will provide answers to all questions,” wrote ombudsman in the Telegram channel (the message was later edited).
Ms. Moskalkova said with reference to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Turkey that 90 children who were forced to leave the hotel will be sent home today, August 5. Some parents taken out their children to Russia for their own money. About ten children will be transferred to another camp, which was organized in Turkey by the Ost-West tour operator.
On August 4, it became known that the vacationers of the children’s and teenage camp “Hummingbird Tour” were forced to leave the Omorfi Garden Resort, on the basis of which their vacation on August 2 was organized. The children were moved to the Rios Latte Beach Hotel. Parents who signed contracts with a private person and did not receive documents in their hands say that the reason for the eviction is the lack of payment for accommodation. The operator refers to overbooking.
