Moscow Zoo invites children to free classes

The Moscow Zoo is recruiting children to the Circle of Young Zoo Biologists, the Pony Club and the Zoo Studio.

Enrollment in circles and studios of the Moscow Zoo is carried out at its official website. All classes are free of charge.

Members of the Circle of Young Zoo Biologists (KYUBZ) will be able to conduct scientific observations of animals and write a research paper based on their results. Also, lectures are given for the children by famous scientists, zoo employees and leaders of the circle. And on weekends and holidays, members of the KYUBZ have the opportunity to go on a real expedition – through the natural areas near Moscow or to one of the reserves. The circle accepts children from 11 to 17 years old.

In the Pony Club, children are introduced to the peculiarities of interaction with horses, they are taught to understand them, care for and care for them. And of course, after the completion of the preparatory stage, the participants of the Pony Club are taught the skills of amateur riding – walking, trotting and even galloping.

“Athletes of our Pony Club constantly win first and prize places in pony club competitions at various levels (municipal, regional, all-Russian and international tournaments), take part in exhibitions, shows, festivals and other events to popularize pony sports,” described on the website of the Moscow Zoo.

Children over 6 years old can sign up for the Pony Club. But only those who successfully pass the entrance tests will be able to become its participant.

The zoo studio is a circle that involves inclusive education. It can enroll children with severe multiple developmental disorders (SMDD), as well as their brothers and sisters without disabilities. Children here are helped to get to know different animals and plants closer, they are educated in their respect for nature. Excursions around the zoo, classes with elements of zootherapy and various master classes are conducted for participants.

To apply for a child to participate in one of the circles or the Pony Club, you need to go to the “Education” section on the Moscow Zoo website, select the desired direction and click the “Apply” button in the “How to become a member” tab. Next, you need to fill out the questionnaire, put down all the checkboxes and click on the “Submit Application” button. A decision on your application will be emailed to you. If there is no “Submit Application” button, then all places are already taken and the recruitment is over.
