At a Friday meeting of the public headquarters for monitoring elections in Moscow, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Electoral Committee Dmitry Reut spoke about the test voting, which will take place on August 26. The main innovation of the autumn municipal elections in the capital will be an electronic voter register, which will allow citizens to decide directly on voting days how it is more convenient for them to vote – online or at traditional polling stations. Since the system must “see” which of the two methods a particular voter chose in order to exclude double voting, this time the test will take place both online and at regular polling stations: on August 26, they will be opened one for each of the 125 districts, where in September elections will take place.
