Moscow throws us topics for conversation

In the center of the capital, Quartet I is filming a new film, What Men Talk About. Simple pleasures.”

Sitting in cafes on Moscow rooftops and walking around the city, the four friends discuss the new questions that life has put before them. He discusses in his narrow circle with the maximum degree of frankness. At the same time, the viewer is a witness to a fascinating collective brainstorming, being in its very epicenter.

According to the story, having met on a weekend morning to drink champagne, the friends embark on another journey through the back streets of the male subconscious. What are the men actually talking about this time?

Lesha, for example, naively tries to answer himself the question of whether there is “female friendship” in the world. Camille worries about the moral issue of whether his best friend can be fired. The famous “walker” Slava is trying to remember his first love (or was it not her?). Well, Sasha is thinking about the question of how, having lost his father, you can enjoy life “here and now.”

Friends wander through the alleys of the historic center within the Garden Ring, thinking about how to screw in a light bulb so that she is satisfied. They argue over what message carry candid photos in social networks. Well, they are trying to understand what is hidden behind the word “chevapchichi”.

“Our characters have matured,” says one of the co-authors of the script, artist Leonid Barats, “they are at a completely different point in life than they were four years ago, when the last part of the story came out. There were other topics for conversation, other thoughts and problems, and it seemed to us that the viewer would be interested to know how our heroes live now. Moscow in this story will become one of the characters: the city itself throws up topics for conversation, and its inhabitants – modern and long gone – enter into a dialogue and even an argument with us.

This time, following the established tradition, Quartet I is working with a new director. It was Mikhail Polyakov, who previously shot the films “A Time to Live, a Time to Die” and “Secrets of Family Life”.

“The Quartet are the heroes of my youth,” says Mikhail Polyakov. “Therefore, for me the main task in working on a picture is to show how cool they were and remain, and, of course, not to fall into the mud face.

The film should appear on the screens in the winter of next year.
