Two young Muscovites were among the best: Anastasia Tronina, a pupil of the kindergarten “Lily of the valley” of school No. 1387, and a student of school No. 1321 “Ark” Taisiya Klyachina. The girls received prizes in the nomination “Video clip or cartoon about a word from the Russian anthem.”
Almost four thousand children and teenagers from 86 regions of Russia, as well as four foreign countries – Tajikistan, Mongolia, Armenia, Lebanon took part in the competition. They sent in their creative work, such as videos and cartoons they created, in which they explained how they understood the content and meaning of the Russian anthem.
The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education together with the Ministry of Defense and the “Innovative Center for the Development of Children and Youth”. According to the president of the center, Ekaterina Averkieva, it is very important that children and adults really understand the anthem, because it awakens love for the Motherland.
“When children work with the anthem, with dictionaries, study the origin of words, they really learn: oh, it turns out that I understand what the sacred Motherland is, you can’t mock it. And their attitude to the motherland is changing. Indeed, such sincere affection arises, their love intensifies, – Ekaterina Averkieva specified.
The All-Russian competition “The Anthem of Russia in Understandable Words” has been held for six years already, and during this time more than ten thousand people have taken part in it.
