Today, graduates of the capital’s schools are writing the last trial exam of this calendar year – this is a unified city test in the format of the final exam in mathematics at the basic level.
For eight years now, since 2015, the Unified State Examination in Mathematics has been divided into two levels: basic and specialized. The first level is passed by school graduates who do not enter engineering and technical specialties. And for admission to the institute they do not need the exam in mathematics. The profile level of the exam is taken by those for whom mathematics is one of the entrance exams to the university.
City-wide tests in the USE format this academic year will be held in all subjects at examination points and on the basis of educational organizations. They will help students feel the atmosphere and learn the intricacies of the examination procedure in order to feel more confident during the real exam. In addition, based on the results of the work, 11th graders will be able to understand which group for workshops they should enroll in in order to prepare for the exam in the best possible way – a group of basic or advanced level.
In Russia, the USE serves as both a final exam at school and an entrance exam to a university. Obligatory for obtaining a certificate of graduation from a Russian school are the Unified State Examination in the Russian language and mathematics.
