The farewell ceremony for sports commentator and journalist Vasily Utkin ended at the Central Clinical Hospital under the President of Russia in Moscow, the correspondent reported TASS. Vasily Utkin will be buried at the Nikolsko-Trubetskoy cemetery in Balashikha near Moscow.
Several hundred people came to say goodbye to Mr. Utkin. Among them are the President of the Russian Premier League Alexander Alaev, former football players Dmitry Khokhlov, Nikita Bazhenov, Vladislav Radimov and Evgeny Lovchev, sports commentators Alexander Elagin, Denis Kazansky, Dmitry Shnyakin, Nobel Arustamyan, Roman Naguchev and rapper Pharaoh.
Vasily Utkin died On March 19, at the 53rd year of life, in the cardiology department of a Moscow hospital. The preliminary cause of death was pulmonary embolism. Mr. Utkin gained fame in the 1990s as the host of “Football Club” on NTV. Twice won the TEFI award in the category “Best Sports Commentator”, worked for Match TV, Eurosport, NTV-Plus.
