Moscow rescuers are trying to save the owner of an apartment in the center of Moscow from an uninvited guest – a street rat, which climbed into a living space through the toilet on the night of April 14.
As MK found out, at about three o’clock in the morning, a 58-year-old resident of a house on Bolshoy Sukharevsky Lane heard strange sounds in the bathroom, which was combined with a toilet. It was either the squeaking of a chick, or the hissing of a small wild animal.
“My daughter and I live in an apartment on the second floor, our house, of course, is old – built in 1913,” said the owner of the house, Vlasta. – Night and suddenly strange sounds from the bathroom. We don’t have our own animals. They didn’t understand anything when they woke up. I ran there and listened – at first there was a squeaking sound somewhere behind the toilet, as if it was even a cry for help. I realized that this was a real rat!
The woman and her daughter did not sleep all night, and the next morning they called rescuers. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations soon arrived at the scene, but they were unable to find the animal.
“It’s interesting that as soon as they left, this rat squeaked somewhere on the suspended ceiling in the bathroom,” Vlasta explained. “We had to call other rescuers.”
How the animal ended up in the apartment, neither the hostess nor the woman in charge understands.
“Most likely, she got into the apartment through our old sewer pipes and got out through the toilet,” suggested the woman in charge of the house. “And then the rat apparently began to panic, that’s why it squeaked so much.” Well, at least she didn’t rush at people and didn’t bite, but she still scared the owners!
