The Russian Federation considers Armenia’s accession to the Roman status an unfriendly step, and therefore the Russian government refused to conclude a bilateral agreement with the republic, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin informed.
In an interview RBC he stated that “in this paradigm” he does not see any opportunities to take seriously Armenia’s proposal to conclude a bilateral agreement with the Russian Federation. According to the diplomat, our country expected that Armenia would refrain from ratifying the Roman status.
The rules of the International Criminal Court (ICC) allow states that are not signatories to the Rome Statute to apply to the court without ratifying it. Previously, Armenia approved the Rome status of the ICC.
