Moscow Polytechnic University transferred 11 student groups to distance learning due to a case of measles

The leadership of the Moscow Polytechnic University has switched to a distance learning format for students of 11 study groups who have been in contact with infected with measles. The patient is in the hospital.
“Vaccination stations have been opened in the buildings of the Moscow Polytechnic University. Disinfection and the work of bactericidal irradiators are also organized, medical supervision of all contact persons is carried out daily,” the RBC in the press office of the university.
The administration of the institution reported that a student had been infected with measles the day before, April 19. To date, no other cases of measles have been detected at the university.
Last week Moscow University of Oil and Gas announced unscheduled holidays due to a detected case of measles. The symptoms of measles in a student were reported by the Moscow Aviation Institute, but later the information was not confirmed.
Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova statedthat measles cases were registered in 44 regions. The agency believes that, despite the complication of the epidemiological situation, systemic restrictions are not required. Ms. Popova assured that the foci of the disease can be “stopped very quickly.”
