Yesterday, December 18, in Moscow, snowdrifts grew by 25 cm in a day, Deputy Mayor Pyotr Biryukov told TASS. According to him, since the beginning of December, 2.5 monthly rainfall has fallen in the city.
He said that on Sunday an additional 40,000 people were involved in snow removal. In total, about 120 thousand workers were cleaned, about 14.2 thousand pieces of equipment were involved. He added that they continue to clean the streets at night.
“As for December, this is probably the first time in the last 80 years… Only today, 25 cm per day in some places of the city and even more, more than 60% of the monthly norm – 39 cm,” Mr. Biryukov specified.
