Moscow demanded that Ecuador not transfer Russian military equipment to the United States

FSMTC considered unacceptable the transfer by Ecuador to the United States of military equipment produced in the Russian Federation

The possible transfer of military equipment by Ecuador from the Russian Federation to a third party is unacceptable. This statement was made by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC).

It indicated that Ecuador would violate its international obligations if it transferred military products manufactured by the Russian Federation to a third party. As a result, this could lead to negative consequences for future contacts between the two parties.

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa previously announced his intention to exchange old Russian and Ukrainian military equipment for new ones from Washington by the end of January – for $200 million.
