The Savelovsky Court of Moscow sent into custody two defendants in the case of poisoning 35 people with shawarma, RIA Novosti reports.
The agency refers to the statement of the representative of the court.
“Kakhramanov and Akopov were chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention,” it says.
The article, according to which the owner and employee of the cafe “Bistro-24” was brought to justice, provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 6 years.
Earlier, on August 25, the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Moscow announced the initiation of a criminal case into the mass poisoning of visitors to a cafe in the north of Moscow.
The patients were diagnosed with salmonellosis. Rospotrebnadzor found that the cafe did not have enough refrigerators, the products were of unknown origin and without labeling, and employees worked without medical records. One of the visitors reported that he found a rat’s tail in his shawarma. The establishment was closed.
