Moscow City Court upholds lawful extension of Berkovich’s detention

The Moscow City Court recognized as lawful the extension of the measure of restraint for director Yevgenia Berkovich and playwright Svetlana Petriychuk in the form of detention.
Berkovich and Petriychuk are charged in the case of justifying terrorism. The defense asked to replace the measure of restraint with a milder one, the prosecutor’s office – to leave the accused in the pre-trial detention center.
The investigation is not taking active steps pending the results of Berkovich’s psychiatric examination, lawyers cited by the correspondent say TASS.
