Moscow autumn bike festival, barbecue championship and Peter’s assemblies: where to go on September 3 and 4

On the first weekend of September, Moscow will host many events that will be of interest to adults and children, theatergoers, music lovers, lovers of learning something new, adherents of an active lifestyle … Moskovskaya Pravda has collected the most curious of them.

Spasskaya Tower at VDNKh

On September 3 and 4, VDNKh will host the final days of the Spasskaya Tower festival. Visitors will be able to see the finals of children’s show jumping competitions and the performance of the 1st Special Police Regiment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. And on September 4, the Closing Ceremony of the festival will take place, competitions in children’s horse riding and demonstration performances of horse riders will be held. A variety of workshops and entertainment events will be held in the children’s area.

Also on September 3 and 4, VDNKh guests can take part in the RestoMarket Fest. On Saturday, September 3, the Russian BBQ Championship will be held here. 12 teams will compete in the best cooking of fish, poultry, pork, beef and desserts. And on September 4, competitions among chefs will be held.

Live music will sound in the garden all day long, theater performances will be played on the stages and master classes will be held, thematic lectures will be held in gazebos and exhibitions. In the recently restored Belvedere grotto, festival guests will be able to see a three-dimensional model of the Van der Gulst chambers, the very ones where, according to legend, Peter visited his favorite Anna Mons, and performances on stilts and games of the Peter the Great era will take place in the alleys.

Moscow autumn bike festival

Fans of cycling can take part in the Moscow Autumn Bicycle Festival, which will be held on September 4th. Participants will have to overcome the 29-kilometer route from Moscow City to VDNKh, which will mainly pass along the city’s embankments. However, you can get off the route at any point. And the bike festival is held not to set records, but to enjoy a leisurely ride around the city.

The festival town will open from 12:00 on Testovskaya street. Participants are waiting for competitions with prizes, a food court and interactive zones. The bike ride starts at 13:00. At the finish line, there will also be a festival town with a variety of activities.

“Feast of Disobedience” at the Central House of Children’s House on Lubyanka

On September 3 and 4, the final days of the Back to School festival will be held at the Central Children’s Store on Lubyanka. These days from 15:00 to 17:00, children and adults are waiting for the “Feast of Disobedience”: the musical “Funny Lessons” from the Moscow Children’s Variety Theater, unusual experiments in the scientific show “WOWSHOW”, master classes and much more.
