Foreign Ministers of Russia and Turkey Sergey Lavrov and Hakan Fidan will consider the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply Turkey with 1 million tons of grain. About it reported department press office.

Lavrov and Fidan intend to work out the parameters for organizing the supply of 1 million tons of Russian grain to Turkey at a reduced price with financial support from Qatar. It is planned that the grain will be processed at Turkish enterprises and sent to the most needy countries.

“We consider this project as an optimal working alternative to the Black Sea deal,” the Foreign Ministry said.

In the course of the upcoming negotiations, the Turkish side is going to again convey the Russian position, according to which, after the completion of the “grain deal”, all ships going to Ukraine are considered potential carriers of military cargo involved in the conflict on the side of Kiev.

The talks between the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Turkey will take place in Moscow. Fidan will visit to Russia from August 31 to September 1.
