More than half of Russians have experienced Internet fraud since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2023, more than half of Russians have experienced phishing. These conclusions were made by MTS Red based on a survey of Internet users. Moreover, a third of those surveyed said they receive phishing emails two or more times a month. Most often, inattentive users responded to the offer of scammers to invest in stocks or projects with high returns, MTS Red calculated.

More than 500 people of different age categories took part in the survey: 34% of respondents were aged 30–40, 28.5% were aged 40–50, and 21.9% were aged 18–30. Among the respondents there were 54.3% men and 47.5% women. The study was conducted in the Volga, Northwestern, Urals, Southern, Siberian and Central Federal Districts.
