More than half of enterprises in Shebekino returned to work after shelling

More than half of the large and medium-sized enterprises of the Shebekinsky city district have already started work, and tomorrow, July 3, the pasta factory will resume work, said the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Earlier, the authorities of the region reported that since the beginning of May, as a result of shelling by the armed forces of Ukraine, damage got 89 enterprises in Shebekinsky and Grayvoron city districts. 11 large factories were named among the victims.

“I am very glad that the enterprises of the Shebekinsky District are returning to their usual work, more than half of large and medium-sized enterprises have already started work. From tomorrow, July 3, a factory producing the famous Shebekin pasta will start working, ”- wrote July 2 Gladkov on his page on VKontakte.

According to him, about a third of the factory’s employees will return to work, the lines will produce one ton of pasta per hour. Gladkov expressed the hope that the restoration work will soon launch the enterprise in full.

The governor also specified that 65 apartment buildings and 62 individual houses were restored after the shelling. He called the restoration of the thermal circuit of the destroyed housing by August 1 the main task.

Earlier this week, Gladkov wrote about the return of more than 10% of Shebekino residents to their homes.

The intensity of shelling of the Shebekinsky urban district from Ukraine increased at the end of May. On June 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired a record 850 shells in the district. Against this background, the evacuation of residents from the city and other border areas began – it was reported that almost 60,000 people were evacuated. However, on June 27, Gladkov reported a decrease in the number of shelling and provided data only for the Shebekinsky district. This week, the governor wrote about the return of more than 10% of Shebekino residents to their homes, the authorities have been preparing for the arrival of the rest of the citizens since July 3.

In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the “medium level of response” has been established in the region.
