More than a hundred sporting events will take place in the Murmansk region in December

As part of an operational meeting in the government on November 27, the Minister of Sports of the Murmansk Region, Svetlana Naumova, spoke about the physical education and sports events that will take place in the region in the first month of winter. In total, over 100 events are planned.
The month will be very busy. The program includes regional championships in volleyball, basketball, hockey, chess, football, sambo, cross-country skiing and other sports. Over five thousand northerners will take part in the events.
In addition, the minister recalled the start of the Russian Cup in alpine skiing. The second stage will take place from December 3 to 6 in Polyarnye Zory.
Another important event is the Northwestern Federal District hockey championship among boys under 18, which will be held in Murmansk from December 7 to 8 at the Ice Palace.
Other events include a series of home games of the youth HC “Arktika” in the NMHL Championship of the 2023/2024 season, seasonal figure skating and cross-country skiing classes as part of “Bold Sunday”, as well as honoring athletes and sports veterans.
In addition, the regional stage of the All-Russian speed skating competition “Silver Skates” will be held in Olenegorsk from December 21 to 23.
The day before, a biathlon competition was held in Murmansk for the prizes of Vladimir Klimov and in memory of Artemy Khasankaev. We wrotethat the competition took place in the Valley of Comfort.
