More than 70% of Russians have never consulted a psychologist – Picture of the Day – Kommersant

As shown interview website “Health Mail.ru” (VK project), timed to coincide with Psychologist’s Day, 72% of Russians have never asked for psychological help. Those who resorted to the help of such specialists, most often turned to one-time to resolve some issue. At the same time, 60% of respondents in general consume psychological content extremely rarely or are not interested in it at all.
Many respondents stated that they do not use the services of psychologists and psychotherapists because they have no problems in this area. Only 1.5% of respondents are afraid of stigmatization in connection with contacting specialists.
The most common reason for visiting a psychologist or psychotherapist is anxiety and depression (three out of ten respondents). Other reasons include low self-esteem, abusive relationships, loss of a loved one.
