More than 70% of Germans are against increasing military aid to Ukraine, according to a survey conducted by DeutschlandTrend.
As noted, 41% of respondents consider Germany’s assistance to Ukraine sufficient, and 30% – even excessive.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an interview with Welt that 20-30% of Germans do not support arms supplies to Ukraine and anti-Russian sanctions. At the same time, he clarified that this is his subjective impression of communicating with the citizens of his country.
Scholz also admitted that among those who disagree with the actions of the German authorities are representatives of almost all German political parties – from the Christian Democratic Union and the Greens to the Social Democrats. He said that he had to argue with the “doubters” and explain the reason for the continued support of Ukraine.
Earlier, the head of the Federal Network Agency of the country, Klaus Müller, appealed to the people of Germany with a request to save gas.
