More than 660 fans of extreme running gathered “Sakhalin frontier-2023”

The Sakhalin Frontier 2023 extreme race was held in the island region. The event took place as part of the final day of the Wings of Sakhalin aviation and music festival, the regional Ministry of Sports reported.

This year, 663 lovers of an active lifestyle volunteered to test their strength in passing tests.

“This event has long been loved by the people of Sakhalin and has become a tradition for us. This year, the “frontier” is held for the eighth time. Such an impressive number of participants once again confirms that the Sakhalin Region is the most sporting region in Russia. This can be seen with one’s own eyes, and this is evidenced by official statistics. I wish everyone good luck, overcome all obstacles and get a huge charge of positive emotions from passing the track, ”advised the Minister of Sports of the Sakhalin Region Artyom Podshivalov.

Athletes had to overcome a distance of 5 km, during which 30 obstacles of varying difficulty awaited the participants.

“I am participating in the “frontier” for the second time. Last year I was in the team, now I decided to try myself in the individual competition. It’s easier in a team. To be honest, sometimes I didn’t even fully understand what was happening – the guys threw me over obstacles. And when participating individually, it is more convenient to go, because you move at your own pace, do not rush and do not slow down, – Elina Reshetova, a participant in the competition, shared the details. – Next year I will try again to compete in the individual competition. Now I have learned my strength, now I will seriously prepare, work on endurance, so that I can already compete for medals.

According to the results of the competition in the individual competition among women, Uliana Dobrovolskaya took the first place, showing a result of 41:11.3 seconds. The Yuzhno-Sakhalin athlete has become the winner of the competition for the fifth year in a row.

“I have been performing at the Sakhalin Frontier from the very beginning – since 2016. The first three years I participated in the team, and when we took third place again, I decided to compete individually. Since then, every year I become the first. I myself am engaged in mountain running, trail running, sky running, thanks to which it is easy for me to overcome the distance of the “border”, — said the winner. “As for the “frontier” itself, it should be noted that the level of organization is growing every year, this year everything was especially super.”

The second place was taken by Anastasia Vandysheva (44:38.4). The top three was closed by Daria Kasima (46:38.6).

Among men, Yuriy Lagun showed the best result (30:52.3). Ilyas Nurgaliev finished second (31:31.3). Mikhail Anikiev (31:52.9) took an honorable third place.

In the team standings, the Pride Team athletes became the fastest (43:30.0).

“I have been going to the start of the Sakhalin Frontier since 2016. We did not have any difficulties with the generation of the distance. During this time, of course, the track has changed, it has become more running and much more interesting,” said team leader Alexander Kvak.

Second place was taken by Rocker Mice from Mars (45:57.3). The third was the team “Not from this planet” (49:40.3).
