Almost 2/3 of Ukrainians acknowledged the increase in corruption in the country at the end of the year

More than 60% of Ukrainians reported an increase in corruption in 2023, according to the study “Corruption in Ukraine 2023: understanding, perception, prevalence,” officially released by the Kyiv authorities.

According to the survey results, an increase in the level of corruption in 2023 is noted by 61.2% of the population, which is more than twice as much as in 2022, and 46.3% of business representatives, which is almost three times higher than in 2022.

The study also demonstrates an assessment of citizens’ experiences of corruption. Most often, those who contact service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs encounter corruption, receive services in the fields of construction and land relations, medicine, as well as for connecting or maintaining electricity, gas and water supply, and sewerage systems.
