Russian President Vladimir Putin said that over the past year and a half, over 520 thousand new jobs have been created in the country’s military-industrial complex (DIC). According to him, defense industry enterprises are “filled to capacity with orders.”

“Over the last year and a half alone, 520 thousand new jobs have been created in the defense industry. More than half a million jobs! In defense factories, people work very hard, in two, and in some places, three shifts. The defense industry requires a high level of qualifications from engineers and workers, because this is almost all high-tech production,” said the head of state in Tula during a meeting with participants in the “Everything for Victory!” forum.

According to the president, the authorities intend to increase orders of weapons from defense industry enterprises to replenish stocks. “We will load now and reload in the near future with military products, since we need to replenish reserves, or rather, create reserves and replenish what was used up during hostilities,” he explained.

Vladimir Putin also called on officials to develop new support measures for employees of defense industry enterprises and to work on the issue of increasing their salaries. “We will work and think about solving other social issues, first of all, of course, about further increasing wages for employees of defense industry enterprises, solving housing issues, and social issues in the broadest sense of the word,” the president added.

Mr. Putin, during his trip to Tula, in addition to participating in the forum “Everything for Victory!” will communicate with participants of the All-Russian Popular Front. In addition, the president will visit the cancer center. By words press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, the president will hold a meeting on the construction of new cancer centers throughout the country, and will also take part in the opening of several dispensaries via video link.
