In Belgorod, authorities are strengthening public transport stops to protect the population from shelling. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel reported that over the past 24 hours, concrete structures were installed at 22 stops, and 21 stops were lined with sandbags.
The city has also begun installing modular structures with double reinforcement, which the Ministry of Defense uses to protect personnel. Governor previously explainedthat such structures in the event of a missile threat can be used along with existing shelters. Currently, three such modules are installed in Belgorod.
“We plan that from today (more) about ten… modular structures will be installed. And in total there are already more than 400 stops made of reinforced concrete, sand and modular structures,” said Mr. Gladkov. He added that the authorities will wait for feedback from residents regarding the organization of shelters.
Belgorod at the end of last year subjected to the most powerful blow from Ukraine since the beginning of the special military operation. As a result, 25 people were killed in the city and more than 100 were injured. After this, the authorities promised to help local residents move to cities in the region far from the border, and began sending children to children’s camps in other regions.
