The administration of the municipality, together with the Boxing Federation of Russia, with the support of partners and sponsors, held a real holiday in honor of the Day of the Athlete.
Those who glorify our municipality marched in orderly rows along Lenin Square: they win victories, set records and receive high awards.
The parade of representatives of sports federations opened the holiday, which was held under the auspices of the World Friendship Games. Everyone had a chance to set a record today. More than 4.5 thousand participants of the “Boxing Run” entered the distance of five kilometers.
— This is the third time I have participated in the Boxing Race. For me, this is a real celebration of sports, each time – new emotions. There are many like-minded people here, the event is well organized. Thanks to everyone who makes mass sports accessible,” said Irina Ledneva, a resident of Podolsk.
For me, running is a solo sport. The time when you can immerse yourself in your thoughts or, on the contrary, not think about anything. However, participation in races is vital for everyone who is fond of sports. In these moments, I understand that thousands of people share my passion, we are chasing a dream – for some it is a cash prize, for others the main thing is to cross the finish line by defeating yourself, – shared Oleg Chastopalov.
– For the first time I celebrate Athlete’s Day! So many charged, beautiful, positive people around – all strong, self-confident. Running five kilometers, you feel how the stream literally “carries”, it is much easier to overcome the distance in the company! These were my first five kilometers. We run further, – said Ksenia Ignatieva.
The participants who ran with the best results received cash prizes.
Two participants of the race got super prizes. For a strong spirit and indestructible character, Elena Semykina, a member of the Equal Opportunities Club, who overcame the distance in a wheelchair, was given the keys to the apartment.
For the will to win, an 80-year-old participant in the race, Svetlana Lekareva, was awarded a cash prize of 500 thousand rubles.
On August 12, for the first time, within the framework of the project of the United Russia party, Za Sambo held a beach sambo tournament.
The holiday program consisted of many cultural and sporting events: a children’s race, competitions in various disciplines, performances by artists, famous bloggers and pop stars.
Another sporting event for joggers will take place on 19 August.
The fourth start of a series of track and field races, which is being implemented as part of the Moscow Region Super League project, will be held in Serpukhov. At the Golden Peacock Run, participants will be able to run 3, 5, 10 or 21.1 km. The start of the half marathon will be given at the park. Oleg Stepanov. Details – on the site russiarunning.com.
