More than 300 deputies and senators co-sponsored the draft law on the status of veterans for volunteers

Submitted to the State Duma bill on extending the status of combat veteran to volunteers. The authors of the document were Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko (United Russia), senators, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin (United Russia) and deputies from all factions – more than 300 people in total. The provisions of the draft law apply to legal relations that arose from February 24, 2022.
Also, volunteers participating in a military operation and injured or maimed will be given the status of a combat invalid. “The adoption of the draft federal law will allow … to extend to them the appropriate social support measures provided for by the current legislation for military personnel,”— says in an explanatory note.
State Duma and government agreed Veterans Status Initiative for Volunteers on October 26th. In March, President Vladimir Putin signed a law recognizing combat veterans of participants in a special operation in Ukraine. In July, combat veteran status distributed on the civilian personnel of the army. Veterans recognized as well as FSB officers participating in hostilities.
