More than 2,000 apartments and houses were damaged in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region

In the Shebekinsky urban district, more than 2,000 houses and apartments were damaged to varying degrees as a result of shelling, informed the head of the district administration Vladimir Zhdanov in his Telegram channel.

He said that a meeting was held in Shebekino to discuss the restoration of communal infrastructure, the resumption of electricity and water supply in the city.

“On the destroyed and damaged housing stock. More than 2,000 houses and apartments in the Shebekinsky urban district were damaged to one degree or another. Most of them are in the city,” he wrote.

According to Zhdanov, three apartment buildings and 34 private ones have significant damage, experts will determine the possibility of restoring housing. From Tuesday, June 13, builders will begin to cover broken windows on the first floors of houses with temporary materials, the head of the district added.

The shelling of the Belgorod region, where the high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger operates indefinitely, has become more frequent since the beginning of the month. In particular, on June 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired a record 850 shells in the Shebekinsky District. On June 6, the press service of United Russia, citing the head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that almost 60,000 people had been evacuated from the shelled territories.
