More than 200 cars are stuck at the ferry crossing Yakutsk – Nizhny Bestyakh

The Ministry of Transport of Yakutia reported shortly before that the ferry crossing was planned to be closed on November 4 due to the situation on the Lena River.

“They announced: that’s it, there won’t be any today, tomorrow at approximately seven in the morning, if the weather permits, there will be loading. But today the ferries cannot go because of the fog,” Mr. Efimov told the publication “TVNZ”. “Who forced these people to go on the ferry at -30 degrees, especially with children? People who are going to travel in this weather, why didn’t they go to the 202nd or 203rd microdistrict and cross on pillows?” he added.

Today, November 4, Ministry of Transport of Yakutia reportedthat the ferry crossing is closed “until stable ice formation.” The vessels must be transported on hovercraft by Lenavodservis LLC and Lena-Trans LLC. The department noted that “in the event of complications in the hydrological situation,” passengers will be transported by Polar Airlines.
