In the village of Lesnoy, Korsakov District, the championship of the Sakhalin Region in the jeep trial Rainforest Challenge Sakhalin was held. For three days, 22 crews from different regions of the Far East demonstrated their skills in driving cars and ATVs off-road, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
Competitions were divided into four categories: R1 – these are deeply improved cars or “cutlets” specially built for competitions; R2 are upgraded off-road vehicles; The R3 are civilian SUVs with minor modifications and a winch; ATV/UTV are ATVs of various modifications.
Participants waited for short sections with a time limit of 15 minutes, which required a lot of effort and skill from the crew. Of great importance were the skill of the pilot, engine power, the speed of removing the winch and the high strength of the off-road vehicle.
According to the results of the competition, the winners were Sergey Konev and Dmitry Blinov in the R1 category, Ivan Klebanov and Vitaly Vasilyev in the R2 category, Sergey Avdienko and Alexei Derkach in the R3 category, and Andrey Bekhtgold took first place in the ATV category.
Second place was taken by Vasily Shumaev and Pavel Krasnukhin in the R1 category, Pavel and Nikita Katsura in the R2 category, and Viktor Vedernikov and Yuri Malakhov in the R3 category. Vitaly Dobrovolsky took second place in the ATV category.
Third place went to Konstantin Igoshev and Sergey Makeev in the R1 category, Yuri Yurkov and Anvar Nizaev in the R2 category, Maria Ryzhikova and Egor Moiseev in the R3 category, and Danil Arzhankin in the ATV category.
