More than 150 veterans and participants in the special military operation took part in United Russia’s preliminary voting, 30 of them are now in the zone of its conduct, said Sergei Perminov, deputy secretary of the party’s general council.

According to Perminov, who leads the press service of United Russia, more than 3 million people participated as voters in the preliminary voting. He stated that there were no serious violations during the procedure, and noted the “tremendous interest” in the primaries. Thus, an average of 7.5 people applied for a seat in the legislative assemblies.

Registration of candidates for the United Russia primaries ended on April 27. The preliminary voting itself began on May 22 and went until the evening of May 28. The selection of candidates for the primaries took place online everywhere, except for new territories. Election campaigns of various levels will be held in 54 regions in September.

This week, in the new regions of the Russian Federation, it was reported that the authorities of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will adopt legal acts on the procedure for electing deputies of legislative assemblies after the completion of the procedure for considering federal laws on holding elections under martial law (VP). Amendments to the legislation, which allow holding elections in the regions where the EaP operates, were adopted by the State Duma in three readings. On May 24, amendments to the law on martial law were approved by the Federation Council. Now the document must be signed by the president.
