The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said that as of March 17, 10:00 Moscow time, 125 thousand 428 Russians voted abroad in the presidential election. According to her, 230 polling stations were opened in 111 countries.

For the first time, Russian presidential elections are held over three days: from March 15 to 17. Four candidates are vying for the post of head of state: Lenionid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated). According to CEC at 12:52, turnout in Russia was 65.05%.
This is also the first presidential election in which the remote electronic voting system (DEV) is available. Access to it is provided in 29 regions of Russia, including Moscow. According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, 1,115 international observers and experts from 129 countries are monitoring the voting process in Russia.
