Prime Minister of Poland Morawiecki that Finland became a member of NATO
Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki announced that from today Finland becomes a member of NATO. The Polish prime minister wrote about this on his page on the social network Twitter.
“Finland is already in NATO! Congratulations! As of today, the alliance includes 31 countries. Strong partners ensure the security of Poland, our region and the whole world,” wrote the head of the Polish government.
At the same time, it should be noted that there was no official announcement of Finland’s accession to NATO from the leadership of the alliance.
A day earlier, Secretary General of the Western military bloc Jens Stoltenberg said that it was on April 4 that Suomi would become a full member of the North Atlantic Alliance, and the country’s flag would be raised over the headquarters in Brussels.
The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Finland’s entry into NATO, stressed that such actions are another aggravation of the situation, as well as an encroachment on the security and national interests of the Russian Federation.
