Monument to Valery Belousov unveiled in Chelyabinsk

The monument is dedicated to the history of Chelyabinsk hockey represented by the legendary sportsman and coach. The Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler took part in the opening ceremony.
“Valery Belousov is a hockey legend, a person who personifies Chelyabinsk hockey and the Traktor hockey club,” the head of the region emphasized. He recalled that the main victories and achievements of the Chelyabinsk team are associated with an outstanding hockey player.
Another participant in the opening ceremony was Evgeny Kuznetsov, a trainee of HC Traktor, who played many matches under the leadership of Valery Belousov.
The area near the ice arena named after V.K. Belousov. The monument represents a hockey player who moves on the ice in the throwing phase. Behind the figure of the eminent sportsman there is a memorial alley of evergreen firs.
After the opening of the monument in Chelyabinsk, the X Governor’s Hockey Cup started. “Tractor” was able to beat “Metallurg”. The Black-and-Whites got a difficult victory following the results of overtime 2:1.
