The French central defender of Celtic Glasgow Christopher Jullien has signed up for Montpellier, we learned from the Hérault club on Tuesday. Jullien, 29, passed the medical examination on Tuesday before recording his return to Ligue 1 after three years in Scotland. This athletic defender (1.96 m, 90 kg) has played very little since December 2020 and a serious knee injury.

Christopher Jullien, trained in Auxerre (2005-2013), revealed himself during three seasons in Toulouse (2016-2019), after a remarkable season in Dijon (2015-16) with Montpellier coach Olivier Dall’Oglio. The former world champion under 20 (2013), alongside Paul Pogba or Lucas Digne, then asserted himself for three years in Toulouse (2016-19) before being transferred to Celtic Glasgow for 8 million euros. This right-handed defender was recruited in an emergency to balance and stabilize the defense of Montpellier, which conceded nine goals after the first three days of the championship.

Christopher Jullien is Montpellier’s sixth recruit after Wahbi Khazri, Arnaud Nordin, Faitout Maouassa, Théo Sainte-Luce and Falaye Sacko. Olivier Dall’Oglio’s team is in 13th place in Ligue 1 before the meeting in Brest on Sunday for the 4th day.
