Moldovan President Sandu accused Gazprom of failing to fulfill contractual obligations

“Gazprom” does not fulfill contractual obligations and does not supply to Moldova the volumes of gas necessary for the republic. This was stated in an interview with a local TV channel by the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu.
In her opinion, the Russian corporation is to blame for the resulting shortage of fuel.
Gazprom is not fulfilling its obligations under the contract,” the President of Moldova said.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu reported that Chisinau was looking for an opportunity to go to court to obtain penalties from Gazprom for reducing the daily volume of gas to Moldova by 30% from October 1.
The company explained this by the problems associated with transit through Ukraine. Moreover, Gazprom warned that they could terminate the contract with Moldova for gas supplies at any time. Chisinau grossly violates the agreement on the settlement of historical debt, and constantly delays payment for current consumption.
